Parson Red Heads at The High Dive November 15 2010

Caught The Parson Red Heads again last night at The High Dive. Much smaller crowd on hand then at the sold out Head and Heart show a couple weeks ago. But fun nonetheless. The Parson Red Heads write some solid songs, anthemic, flexing rock idiomatic muscles. Then they end songs with noise, in anti-thesis to their formulas.  Lyrics can be a little over the top. They covered a Tom Petty song (appropriately) and the lead singer who normally stays on rhythm guitar took a guitar solo – he can shred.  Liking the drummer more and more – she has this solid sound, no frills, tight. It works. And, of course, the harmonies.
