Kinetix were not exactly a jam band, nor were they a funk band, but some amalgamation of all of these. Once genres are established they persist. Once a form is discovered the content will come and fill it, year after year. These were energized players.  Bassist having a ball. Soaring guitar solos. Lead guitarist a shredder for sure.  They covered Bohemian Rhapsody and pulled it off, speaking of chops.

Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad was a reggae band with a huge bass sound, tight drums and a killer keys player with a sweet analog organ set up.  It was dub but all live, no digital, no samples. Tight.

The Beautiful Girls headlined. Sizable crowd showed, singing along with songs and stoked to see the Aussie's play Seattle. Nice shout out by Mat McHugh to Seattle, the West Coast, the ocean, etc. after being buried in the heartland on tour. They did their rock/reggae fusion thing. Strong songs.

The Beautiful Girls, another Australian band, play Neumo's on September 20th. They've got that  reggae rock thing going on. Wanna move down under, surf, hang out, be chill like these bros.

Got a chance to catch up with Mat McHugh, for an exclusive interview.  Check it out:
