Show started w/ Josh Hoke doing a sound check, singing "Tiny Dancer" which sounded awesome. Wished he'd played the whole number but alas no. Came back out a half hour later and played all originals except his last song, which was "Go Your Own Way" which was sorta cool but not as cool as "Tiny Dancer" as a cover choice. Weary of Fleetwood Mac but the world isn't -- guess they'll sell out the Tacoma Dome in a few months. Really dug the first song Hoke played; it broke out of genre and got weird. 

Next was The Ultimate Bear Hug (?) a male/female duo whose first and last songs were in three.  They did all originals but tempted us with saying they were gonna play "Fade To Black" by Metallica but then they didn't deliver.  That would have been cool.

Last was Pepper Proud, who sound checked with "I Am A Poor Way Faring Stranger" but didn't play all of it, which was another bummer 'cause that's a rad song. She did bust out some other great tunes, including "Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair" and "Sound Of Silence" in which she changed the lyric to "10,000 iPhones, maybe more." And some nice originals including one about riding the bus from Montlake Terrace that was choice and another about heartbeats.  She had a strong presence in her own folky way.

Other than being tempted with songs that never manifested, was a pretty good night of acoustic rock folk singer songer writer strumming.
